Identity

Maqueta Films is an independent production company based in Barcelona, working across fiction and non-fiction within a European coproduction framework. The company focuses on first and second features and on long-term collaboration with filmmakers.

Its feature film trajectory began with Asamblea, the feature debut of Álex Montoya, and the first Spanish film to premiere directly on Filmin during the pandemic, where it received the Tesela de Oro at the Alicante Film Festival. Since then, Maqueta Films has consolidated an editorial line attentive to territory, identity, and contemporary social transformation.

The company’s development and production strategy builds on the experience of producer Jordi Llorca, whose work includes While You’re Still You, winner of the Goya and Gaudí Awards for Best Documentary, and La Casa, recognised at the Málaga Film Festival. His background in international coproduction contributes to the company’s structural positioning within the European landscape.

Maqueta Films currently develops and produces projects with filmmakers including Adriana Arratia, Andrea Segarra, Laura García Andreu, and Júlia Coldwell. It operates through a flexible and collaborative model, engaging script analysts and consultants within a European development network and assembling tailored teams according to each project’s needs. This structure supports a practice grounded in creative rigor and transnational cooperation.
